I have some left over 28 qt tubs in my leopard gecko rack, is this big enough for an adult male ball python? I would get a corn but they are illegal in georgia

should be fine but you wont know till he is full grown. I just got an 1900g male that is going in a 41q

depends on the size of the male. i keep my adult males in 28qts with no problems

I keep all my adults in 28qts all they all seem to be fine. I keep my sub-adults in there too. Basically, hatchlings/babies are in a 6qt until they are about 500gr. Then, they go into a 28qt. If they get adult size and I see they need a bigger bin, then I move them up to a bigger size. Balls actually perfer smaller, enclosed spaces IMO I think that it gives them security. Since balls are private, aquariums (which I first had ONLY because the Pet Stores told me to buy one ) are not that good for them. They like their privacy and with aquariums they really don't get that, not to mention that it is more sanitary to keep them in a bin, its easier to clean and move around. That's why the rack system is such a good deal all the way around.

I have everyone in 28 qts until they hit about 1800 grams, then they get bumped into a 41 qt. The difference is that in a 28 qt with my babies they still have two hides, just like they would if it was an aquarium, plus the comfort of the tub rather than clear walls. They seem to be doing fairly well with it.

Though I should add that all my "babies" are at least 150 grams. So they are not itty bitties. I plan on keeping my hatchies in a hatchling rack.

I have my younger ones/juvies in 28qts and haven't had problems. Personally I like giving my adults room so I have them in 34qts, if I had an adult male he'd be in a 34qt as well as my big females.

Actually, I know quite a few breeders who keep them in 6qt tubs until 500gr. HOWEVER, if they are taking up more than 1/2 the tub, then I do move them into bigger. However, for the most part yes, I do keep mine up to 500g. in a 6qt. Too many times I have moved them into something bigger and then they have refused to eat. I know a couple breeders that actually keep them in the 6qt even a little longer if they are picky feeders.

All I have to say is no. I cannot even imagine trying to feed a 500g snake in a 6qt tub? There is no room for a small rat in there too
