    No locks yet?! :(

Its been one month for me into the breeding season and I havnt witnessed any locks yet.
Im breeding a male lesser to two normals and a pied male to a pastel.
I've only been able to check up on them maybe twice a day or less to see any locks but so far...nothing.
The snakes lay with eachother and "cuddle" but thats about all I see. Am I just being impatient? Maybe someone out there has never seen a lock and then all the sudden that female is gravid later? I'd love to feel better about it lol.

    Patience, grasshopper! It's still early.

And yes, I had a female lay eggs this past season that I never saw lock.

I haven't had any locks either. I just separated all my pairs since some are going into shed and to try feeding. I'm sure you'll get your lockups before too long

Wow it is one month in?? LOL I just started cooling down, I put a few males in, but this is just the romance period. Yes, I got a couple of locks, but not a lot. They will play for a couple of months sometimes, before they go at it.

Good luck with the male pied. Mine wouldnt lock last year at all, and this year he is not even cuddling.

    LOL all will be good

    Re: No locks yet?! :(

Patience my friend. I waited long time last year for a lock over 2 months and being a newbee was all excited when they finally did, then she never did produce for me. This year so far I've been lucky within 15 min. I had a lock with one female and then within 5 min I had a lock with the other female. But last year was toooootally a different story. I waited and waited and waited until I was about crazy!!!!

They will do it, do it when they are good and ready. You can't make them go, well except the obvious temp changes and such, until they are ready.

Besides like everybody has said, it is still early.

Last year I witnessed a lot of locks, got all excited, and then... nothing. This year I am trying to not get so excited, LOL. So far this year I have seen locks from pastel x yellow belly, and cinny ph g-stripe x het g-stripe. So far nothing from fire x sulfur. All you can do is cross your fingers and tap your foot!
