Snake escape stories! Post em!
I did a pretty lengthy post on my escape stories on my blog, and rather than copy/pasting the whole massive thing I'll just provide the link: http://kbcserpents.blogspot.com/2011...ace-twice.html In short, I've had 4 snakes escape, and been fortunate enough to find all of them. Some of the stories are pretty incredible (at least to me).

Mine isn't too exciting, and she technically didn't "escape" but the other morning me and my bf woke up to one of my big girl's tub lid off and onto the floor (she's kept on a three shelf stand on the second shelf) and a bunch of stuff knocked off the computer desk onto the floor (the desk is right by the stand). It looks like she popped it off in the middle of the night (I have no idea how as it is a locking lid tub!) then had a stroll about, knocked everything over (she's ~2500 grams), then probably got cold and went back into her tub as we found her in her hide in the morning. Was very odd!

When I first started keeping Bp's (the aquarium days), my bp escaped by pushing out the screen cover. After about 1 month of looking everywhere in the house, plus trying every trick in the book my younger brother came running into my room and jumped on my sofa. I heard a very loud hiss and immediately I knew. To sum it up we found the snake but lost the sofa. He was so tightly curled around the inner springs that we had to completely dismantle the thing.

I'm actually in the midst of one right now. My Mexican Black Kingsnake female has been missing for 2 weeks today. Absolutely no sign of her. Got her at NARBC last month, and she's pretty small. Maybe 12-14in. The tub I had her in had too big of air holes. And my cats aren't being any help at all. Dang things...

The other night I woke up hearing a funny squeaking noise... and it was one of my snakes sloooowly creeping across some styrofoam.

Bummer... I know all too well how it feels. Best of luck, just keep on trying. All it takes is being in the right place at the right time.

I've had one escape so far. My butter got loose from a home made snake rack. There was too much of a gap between the lid and the tub. She got loose the same day I brought my new cat home. Was really gut wrenching to open her tub the following day only to find her missing. I spent a week searching for her, I got very little sleep because I was staying up late to look for her. My dog and cat were restricted to my bedroom and I stayed in there most of the week too. I was terrified she had gotten out of my apartment.
I got lucky and found her almost exactly a week later. I went into my kitchen for something to drink and I heard a noise. I opened up the cabinet under my kitchen sink and there she was stuck to a sticky rat trap my apartment complex sets out every year. Her face was stuck to it and her mouth was open. My first thought was that she was dead. Thankfully she wasn't and a little bit of cooking oil later and she was free.
Needless to say all of my tubs now have lids to prevent this from happening again.

Re: Snake escape stories! Post em!
mines gotten out a few times, but i always find him in the same spot between my bed and the heater, one time though his tank was on a fairly tall dresser, and i heard him fall behind it when he got out, just a big thump, it actually scared me since i was half asleep lol.
another escape was an old rat i had though, he knocked 20lbs off his lid, climbed out, went into my bird cage, grabbed one of my finches, took it back to his cage, and ate everything. i found a beak and a foot, that was it. needless to say, that rat wasnt around too long after that...
