    Need some suggestions...

I'm looking for music. Dramatic music, to be precise. Instrumental music, to narrow it down even more. Some vocals are ok, but I don't like to be distracted trying to listen to lyrics.

I don't know how often I've watched a movie and though, "Ohhh, I LOVE the score for this film! I have to buy it!"....and then forget all about it, and now I can't remember what it was I liked so much.

So...can anyone recommend any movie scores known for their heart-pounding and/or emotion-wrenching music?

I've got Lord of the Rings, Last of the Mohicans, Dances with Wolves, Pirates of the Caribbean. But I know there's some way better stuff out there. Anything I can find as digital recordings at Amazon or iTunes...what would you recommend?

Anything John Williams did the score for.

Carmina Burana by Carl Orff seems to fit the bill too.

Dead Can Dance...that was cool. I may pick out some individual songs from them. Power of One was a bit too African themed, which is great, but not what I'm looking for right now.

However, following the links they give "Users who liked this also like this..." led me to 300. That's exactly what I'm looking for!

I'll take more suggestions, too. I need a decent library of dramatic music.

John Williams is great...the problem with him is that most of his music is SO familiar, I find myself tapping along with it and envisioning specific movie scenes. LOL It becomes the focus rather than the background. But I'll go through his stuff and see if I can find some unfamiliar scores.

    Carmina Burana is awesome!
