Using a ranco ect for a lamp?

I know most people use rancos, hydrofarms, johnsons ect to control UTHs and flexwatt, but could the thermostat/probe be used to also control an area heated by a overhead light?

Normal lights are ok to use with dimmer switches, but heat lamps work a little different and those tend to blow them out.

For BPs you also should jsut use UTH's anyways not over head heat.

It's a little tricky with a light because not only is it heating but also lighting (obviously) and I've never had a ranco but I think they are on/off thermos. So ur going to be constantly having the light click on and off. A proportional thermo might be better for that. Or you could get a ceramic heat emitter and toss the light bulb idea.
