Still off feed after laying her clutch ?

I have run into a problem I havent had before...I have a female mojave that layed a clutch of 7 eggs, afterwards I cleaned her up, removed the eggs and put them in the incubator and gave her a few days and then attempted feeding...she refused and has refused every try since...the eggs hatched last week and she still has not fed...I have tried every trick I know but now Im starting to worry...any ideas?

Well that's a BP for ya lol. Try a smaller tub with a hide. Don't know how often your offering, but try cutting back to every 7-10 days. Make sure all temps are good and other than that not sure what to advise. We have a couple females we got last year that havnt fed in hmm I'd say 9 months. We bought them in a group and pretty sure they were gravid imports. But that is common with imported females. We are trying everything and can't get them to eat. Good luck and hope she's starts eating for you.

I agree with giving her a hide if she doesn't have one. Then leave her alone for 2 weeks. Only open the tub if she needs a spot clean or water. After two weeks, try a smaller than usual meal, or if she's a rat eater, try a mouse or if you can find it an ASF.

My normal female went 4 months after laying before she ate, and the only thing she would take was a hamster. However, she kept on eating and gained back her weight, so I indulged the spoiled brat for a while. When I put my foot down about no more hamsters {they are expensive and hard to find} she went on a little feeding strike for about a month. However when our weather changed and temps got cooler and the other females all went into breeding mode, she quit turning her nose up at the rats and is now eating steadily and will be breeding for me again.

If it's only been a week since she laid, I wouldn't worry. She probably needs a little quiet time before you try again. Good luck!

"the eggs hatched last week and she still has not fed" means it's been 60+ days

I agree with Gale, offer a hide even if she didn't use one before, allow her 2 weeks to get used to it and then offer a 3-4 week old small weanling rat(30ish grams) or a small/Medium mouse if that's her preferred meal.

I took in an albino before last breeding season that took 4 months to get back on feed, she ate me out of house and home after she got back on feed, good luck!

Smaller tub or a paper bag usually does the trick for me with any picky eater...

Smaller tub with hide and warmer ambient temps (83) usually get them going again. Was she a good eater before?

My mistake! Somehow I was thinking it was one week since she LAID. 60+ days is a long time. I'm sure she'll come around, maybe with a crawler pup left with her overnight.

I was wondering if that was her! She's grown well. How about pics of her babies?
