Risk of buying High End morphs?

I,ve already been puting money aside, to purchuse one of the more high end morphs, Will be spending around $2000 on one Python.

Im worried that if i spend that much money and what if she dosent prove out to be a breeder?

How often do pythons turn out to be a non breeder?

I don't believe it is a risk you need to worry about. I'm of the belief that most (if not all) pythons will breed as long as the environment and the timing are right.

Well I asked because on some large breeder sites, you see adult female pythons for sale at a cheap price, and it says the reason for the low price is, "never wanted to breed"

It's true that some snakes are more stubborn than others about breeding. However, it's an unavoidable risk.

You CAN pay more for a "proven" breeder if it is a really big concern for you. I personally don't think it's worth the money unless you're in a hurry to start breeding.

Put your faith in the circle of life bro. Some breeders have so many snakes that they may not take the time to figure them out. By the way what kind of morph you planning on getting?

I think that snakes will breed eventually and like meow said, its all about the timing and the environment. Look at youtube videos of breeders and how they do it, they lower the temps and such to have a more successful breeding year and there are some who don't. You also have to think about age. Oh and IMO the high end morph you should get IMO are either champagnes or deserts. A high end dominate morph that will give you good outcomes.

Putting money into an animal to breed it is a risk. There's always a chance of things not working out or the market tanking. Don't invest money you can't afford to lose completely.

That being said, as long as you know what you're doing as far as husbandry goes, your odds are pretty good that your snake will produce for you.

Out of the 100+ breeders that I have I've only got 1 male or female that has yet to breed..

    Could not agree more.

Those are live animals there is absolutely no guarantee.

They might not breed, or take much longer than the average to breed, the female could slug out or worse your animal could die.

It's rare but all those can happen.
