New ball pick up from a friend of a friend

    Hello everyone.

Just picked up a year old normal BP. He was free and in good shape. Very thick and about 4 feet. The only problem is that he has some old eyecaps still attached. He is just in blue and will shed any day now.

    Husbandry is spot on.

My question is that if they don't come off this shed... what is the best way to remove them. They look like they are dented.

I have seen that Bryan from snakebytes uses a rubber thimble.

    Thanks in advance!

It really depends on how many layers there are. After 2-3 I think it's best to seek veterinary help to have them removed. If it's just 1 I usually placed them in a damp snake bag for about an hour. They usually rub it off while trying to get out.

Yeah, that is what I would do if you don't have prior experience in the matter.

Another thing to try that I've seen is to get a rubber thimble and gently rub it over the eye. I've never tried it but I've seen it work.

One of our rescues was like that. She never had humidity or proper heat but we fixed her all up and she shed all of the eye caps off. Good luck
