    When to Weight?

When is the best time to weight your BP?
    How often do you weight?
At what point do you become concerned that your bp is loosing too much weight?

I weigh when I first receive a new ball python. I also weigh every few months after they "empty" themselves. If they go off feed I weigh them every 2 weeks or so to mark any weight loss.

    Re: When to Weight?

I weigh my snakes after they shed becuase they tend to poop right after and this is when they are empty.

I go through a "weigh-in" of everyone once a month, and within a couple days of receiving it or hatching them out. Let's me keep track of how well they are growing. I also keep track of every meal including the size of meal. (all done on a 3x5 index card, which lasts about a year of tracking).

I weigh everytime I clean a cage I have a scale with a holding box on it and in they go. I write it down if they have increased/decreased by over 100 grams.

I weigh my snakes whenever the heck I feel like it, just because I'm curious. I have no routine or schedule, nor do I pay attention to whether they are weighed "empty" or not.

I weigh ours a lot. Whenever they are empty they get weighed, so every couple of weeks I guess.

I weigh the ones in my house every week. If they haven't pooped yet or just ate or something I just put that in a note next to the weight.

I weigh weekly. This is my first time breeding and the past several months I've been keeping tabs on feeding and weighing to make sure they are going to be big enough to breed.
