clean vs. dirty? i get that its not about the animal needing a bath.
does it just mean a clean animal is brighter maybe & if so why not just say that?
i'm just trying to understand all this terminology...

I believe clean vs dirty speaks to the quality of an animal. The most common use I've seen for it is to describe bees. I happen to have both a clean bee and a dirty bee. A clean bee is one that has very little speckling/brown spots. Where as a dirty bee is going to have lots of speckling/brown spots.

In general the "clean" look tends to be more popular than a "dirty" one...so they can sometimes bring more dollars for the same morph. But they're still subjective terms and quality is in the eye of the beholder.
