she hasnt eaten in 3 weeks

So Lou, my bp, hasn't eaten in 3 weeks. Her temps and humidity are good. I have tried to feed her once a week and I'm getting slightly worried. I really am at a loss and I really don't want to try to assist feed if I don't have to. Any help is appriciated.

As long as she isnt losing weight or size or anything you have nothing to worry about, BP's have been known to go 6 months without eating with no problems.

Are you doing Live, prekill, or F/T?

Re: she hasnt eaten in 3 weeks

Hatchlings can be picky. Ive got a ball hatchling at work who wont eat unless you rub the F/T mouse in live mouse bedding. Another who strikes, coils and then lets go because she cant figure out how to rework the mouse into a position she likes, and my own ball python baffles me with when she will eat or not.

I would try using a blow drier to spread the scent of the mouse around. Maybe get her/him worked up a bit? If it persists too much longer people generally reccomend a live rat pup, as they cant really injure the snake. Though I also hear once theyre on live its a tough habit to kick.

I wouldnt stress it to much as long as the animal isn't getting thin....they can be pickey but if she is typically a good feeder I wouldn't worry about it to much as long as she is not loosing weight and shows no signs of illness
