    When to Pair???

First time breeder here...Ive done months of research and thread trolling and i feel prepared. I only have three snakes ready for breeding this year(two 1300g normal females and a nearly 800g male pastel), none of then have ever been bred before and i did my first pairing last week.
I have a few questions i havent been able to find an answer to yet.

    1. I live in Florida. I didnt plan on providing my snakes with a cooling period...but the weather is cooling off and i live in a trailer with poor insulation so im afraid temps are gonna drop anyways. Am i ok to continue to keep pairing? Will the temp drops off and on we experience here in florida provent them from wanting to breed?

    2. Am I ok to pair right after feeding time? Should i give them time to digest and poop before i pair them for a few days?

    3. Since my snakes are unproven,is there anything i can do to coax along successful breedibg? Ive read read putting two males in with a female can make the male competetive and may cause locking more often. Do you think i can acheive the same by putting the male pastel with both females at the same time can cause the same effect? I kbow that sounds kinda stupid but i figured it couldnt hurt to ask.

Any and all info/stories are greatly appreciates guys. Thanks!

    Re: When to Pair???

After feeding, I would wait 48-72 hrs before reintroducing. The last thing you want them to do is get stressed out to the point that they regurgitate they're meal. I also live in a trailer in Florida. My snakes are kept in my Florida room, all glass windows. I use an oil heater with a fan blowing through it, keeps my room temp at 84 degrees during cold spells. I also have UTHs under all my enclosures.

If you dont mind...when do you start pairing? I know BPs can breed pretty much whenever. But since youre on the same seasonal margine as myself im curious.

    Re: When to Pair???

I started pairing a month ago. I've had several locks already. Where in Florida are you?

    Re: When to Pair???

I wait till females start to refuse food before I pair, get all the weight on the females that I can..... The fun usually starts here in November, but the girls ultimately decide when they are ready not me

Im pretty sure my females should be ready. The guy i bought them from a little over a month ago said the girls had gone off feed for two months before they both finally took ASF. They havent refused for me since ive had them though. They readily take regular rats or large mice for me.

When i paired them last week for the first time i had just fed them that same day. So from now on ill feed them and give them a few days before i pair them up again.

True NPR is fairly close to me. Seems there are a lot of breeders over there. Ive picked up snakes from there, and everytime i look for snakes on craigslist or kijiji or something a lot of the snakes i see for sale are from out that way.

Always nice to meet locals in the hobby!
