    Why I Hate Petsmart

Used to rely on petsmart for my rodents. No longer will I go back there unless I have no other choice.

Today, I went in to the usual petsmart I go to. Went to the freezer to pick up some rat pups. There were 2 boxes of "rat pups". All the rest of the boxes were pinkies, fuzzies, stuff too small for my bp. The rat pup boxes looked like they were previously torn open and messed around with, luckily I checked inside before going to the cash because someone had replaced the rat pups with rat pinks or mice fuzzies (something that was pink and clearly didnt look like pups).

I proceeded to ask an employee for some help, to see if there would be any boxes that were not tampered with. I specifically showed him the pinkies which were in the rat pups box, and he examined them and admitted they were very small. Then he went on to try and convince me that those were actual rat pups. I told him there was no way they were pups because they were less than 1/3 of the size of the rat pups I had previously purchased. I ask him when there will be a new shipment of rat pups and he says I dont know. I decide not to buy them, and this guy puts the boxes back INTO the freezer, knowing there were incorrect products inside those boxes.

Grrrr makes me mad! Does anyone know a good website to order bulk f/t feeders from in Canada ?

My best solution is to have at least a pair of rats. Use a kill box when the size is appropriate, and go from there (use the search function for one). Rats are amazing pets, it suck to use the babies as feeders but it must be done. I did it for years, and will do it again when I get the chance.

Yup. If you ever have a pet rat, it is a hard to not become soft when feeding day comes for your snake. They can be extremely social and as smart as a dog if you work with them.

I'm not sure if they ship internationally, but Rodent Pro has always done us right. I would definitely look into that. You can probably find a small mom & pop store locally. If you do have one, I can almost guarantee you they will be cheaper than PetSmart and a lot will actually do bulk orders when they order stuff to save you money.
