    Rre

So I was looking at the adds on Ricky's Reptile Enclosures and Got to looking at one and saw that they were about $500! I'm not knocking them at all, and I'm sure that they are really well built but I thought about their add and it kinda made me smile. The logo says "you wouldnt keep a reptile in a bird cage, so why would you keep it in a fishtank?" I thought about it and after I saw the website I thought to myself, "Probably because tanks aren't $500." Is there a really good benefit of one of these or am I completely ignorant?? Again, I am not knocking their product so please dont hate

many people have commented on RRE's prices before. yes, they are expensive but they're also high quality. Ricky is very open as well, and quite good about responding to potential customers about any issue. if I hadn't just been hit with a "surprise" state tax bill on my car, I'd own one of his smaller enclosures already.

Those are the most BAD A** enclosures I have ever seen. Makes me want to get one now.

There are housing options for any pricing level.

However, yes, if I'm not housing a snake in a plastic tub, I'm going to go with an option that is pricier than a glass cage. I just plain don't like most glass applications for snake care.

Personally I don't like the top opening design much. The all clear ones that many will end up covering the three sides seems odd to me. I have bought from others for less and with more functional (for my conditions) designs.

Hmmm... I've looked at Ricky's stuff and I must say I wondered the same thing. I'm also not knocking the product in any way, but it does give me pause. Here's why:

This is Ricky's adult BP enclosure. It measures 20x24x18, has 1 door on the front side, and is priced at 449.00 (interestingly, he has the SAME cage under "showcases" that is priced at 649.00 )
    Ricky's adult BP enclosure

Here is a comparable cage from Jeff Ronne, the BoaPhile. It measures 23.5x24x17.5, has 1 door on the front side, and is priced at 169.00

Both places offer free shipping within the USA (and Canada in Ricky's case). And the BoaPhile is also an extremely reputable individual and business and is often highly recommended within the reptile community.

Now, WHY would I pay 280.00 more for basically the EXACT SAME THING??? A few dollars, ok I can see that if you've built up a business relationship with someone, but 280.00??? I guess I value my paycheck a little too much....

Sorry, I really don't mean to sound sarcastic, and again, I am in no way knocking Ricky or his product. But I just can't see paying that much for something when there are other options that are so closely comparable. So maybe I am also missing something here? Is there a good and valid reason why Ricky's product is worth 280.00 more?
