    Keeping snakes in the garage?

I'm sure this has been asked before but I can't find it anywhere. I was wondering if anybody keeps their snakes in the garage or not. I have animal plastic cages and they are set up with thermostats but was not sure if the garage is a good idea. Looking for some input.

I live in Minnesota and since nearly half the year here is at below freezing temps(often dropping below 0 degrees Fahrenheit), I wouldn't advise it as the ambient temps would probably kill your snake. Washington is at about the same latitude, so I would also advise against it in your case as the weather is likely very similar.

Is your garage insulated maintaining adequate temps and free of fumes?

This would really be dependent on your specific garage. My garage now, because I live in Florida and the temps get way too hot.

Re: Keeping snakes in the garage?

I've kept my 6 yr old normal in the garage since i bought him from petco. (ugh). He's been doing fine and is my best eater. Recently picked up a JCP, pastel and pinstripe which are all next to each other in tubs. Temps have been pretty stable along with humidity. If it gets to warm, I crack open the garage door and let fresh air flow in. Too cold at night, I crank up the thermostat to adjust it accordingly.
Before I get scrutinized, I live in Southern Cali (The OC) so the weather is pretty stable. We might get a heat wave every once in a while but never affects the boys adversely. Real convenient for feeding because the feeder freezer is right next to the setups. And finally, I wouldn't be posting this because my better half said the only way I could get pythons is if they were housed in the garage (mancave).
