BP obsessed w/ top of cage

I don't know if it's because I've been taking him out more often recently, or if he figured out that up = out, but my BP seems obsessed with the top of his cage now.

Also, there's a small space between the glass and the top of the cage. He will wedge himself in there and swell up like he's trying to lift the lid off. My main concern is that he's scratching his belly against the wire mesh top of the cage and I can hear his skin catching although he doesn't appear like he's shedding.

I just found this odd and wondered if anyone else has had similar experiences.

There's no picture, IMO it sounds like he's just trying to escape, which I think is normal unless it's during the day

Yeah, I couldn't upload for some reason. Glad it's normal. Just hope he doesn't succeed

And it starts at about 9pm, his usual "wake up" time.

How often are you feeding and what size? I know my male normal only roams like that when it's about a day before feeding day. Maybe he's hunting and looking for more food?

I feed him a medium mouse every seven days or so, usually on a Saturday. He hasn't been fed yet so he may be ready.

I'd switch to rats when you can, in my experience they tend to keep them fuller longer than mice. Even baby ball pythons can take a rat fuzzie very early on. Try that, then see if he stops roaming so much
