    Introducing the male, and hides

I have read many threads about introducing the males to the females and how to go about doing so. It seems that many of the people that use tubs don't have hides, so I was wondering... If the female is in an enclosure with two hides (one at the cool and one at the warm end), do you remove any of the hides before placing the male in her enclosure?

My adult female (approx. 2000 grams) is always in one hide or the other. Do I just place the male in with her when she is in one of the hides, or do I remove them so she knows what to expect? Do I remove her from the hide, but leave the hides in the enclosure and introduce the male at that same time?

Any help is welcome, we had a fantastic storm come through yesterday and I wanted to introduce them, but I didn't know what to do.

Hey, I only use hides for a few of my females but when I put males in, I take everything out of the cage except the water bowls. Dont need too many things distracting them or anyplace where the female can hide from the male. This is just from my personal experience.

Well the female that I'm referring to is in a Neodesha 36" stackable enclosure, so the entire front is glass. I don't think that they will like to be fully exposed. I was thinking about covering half of the glass with black construction paper.

    Any thoughts?

I think it would probably be a good idea to do that and i would also mabey fill the bottom with newspaper balls for more security if needed.
