    Where do Pieds come from?

Like many, my favorite morph would have to be the Pied. But where do they come from? What mixtures give you a pied and what mixtures give you an albino pied?

Well when a mommy pied and a daddy pie love each other very much...

Pieds like all base morphs were found somewhere in Africa at some point and imported to the us or other country..

Correct. Like the albino, it's a morph that is found in nature. It's not a combination of multiple morphs. An albino-pied though...that is a combination of the two different morphs done through careful breeding. Extremely unlikely that one would ever be found in the wild.

Pieds are recessive, and cannot be made by combining anything other than the Pied genetics together...

    And they come from eggs.

okay okay.....enough with the jokes! I didn't know if you had to pair other morphs together to get a pied! How do they get an albino pied? Those just seems crazy...saw one on a website for $35,000. I'm guessing it wont sell very quick.

    Albino Pieds are harder.

You need to have two animals with both genes and the odds in your favor to get an Albino Pied.

The odds for two double heterozygous (carriers of the gene but not visually expressing them) animals is 1/16....

This..I can totally understand the confusion what with all the combo's out there today.. But like Heather said to get an Albino Pied you would need to breed two animals that carry in one form or another both genes..
