    My mouse mysteriously disappeared?

I have one pet mouse that I kept to use for scenting. Somehow she escaped/disappeared from her two story mouse cage. There are no holes and the wires are too small for her to crawl through (I think). I've kept mice in there before and none have disappeared. She even has her own wheel! I don't understand why she wanted to leave her happy home in the first place when I have dogs and cats around the house. Any chance of me even finding her? Or is she a goner?

Have you tried looking under the bedding? My mice hide there sometimes.

oh yeah, and sorry about your mouse, i got a little distracted.
pretty much all you can do is check everywhere, but honestly its probably long gone, or your gonna find it behind your fridge in a month or two, ive never once found an escaped mouse(except under my fridge)

    Re: My mouse mysteriously disappeared?

Yes, I have checked under the bedding and took the cage apart. I just found what looks to be some mouse urine on a notebook I have on the bottom shelf of my nightstand. It is about half dry/half damp. I think she may be in my closet. I left her cage in the closet with some food and the door open. Maybe she will get hungry and go back home before the dogs get her. I still can't figure out how she escaped.

Unless you have a live trap, you won't catch that mouse.

    Re: My mouse mysteriously disappeared?

I FOUND HER!!!!!! HA! She was spotted in my brother's room last week across the hall and he spent a day looking for her. About two hours ago I spotted her in my room out of the corner of my eye as I was studying. Since then I have turned my room upside down to find her and leaving food out to lure her. She came out and I tried to catch her but she slipped out of my hands. Again I had to wait, and this time I was prepared to use her critter keeper as a trap. After she came out again I cornered her in my closet and caught her!!!!! It was definitely a game of human vs mouse. It's amazing how she survived going back and forth between rooms and not being eaten by my dogs! Also so sad that I've been outwitted by her multiple times...

Her name was Strawberry..but I think it needs to be changed. Here's the lil fugitive!

Oh..and she no longer has the privilege of living in her two story home, she's now in her original critter keeper to prevent her from escaping again.

I also have a bunch of mouse poop in my closet and along the perimeter of my room from where she was living that I now have to clean.
