Pairing Question!
Hey guys I have a quick question about pairing my male and female. I have a rack but I keep my breeder sized female in an actual terrarium due to lack of tubs in my rack. I've been putting my male that I'm wanting to breed with her in her enclosure but I have not seen either of them show any interest in the each other. The terrarium has sliding glass front doors and I'm wondering if I put her into his tub instead that maybe they would be more likely to lock up due to being more secluded. Any thoughts?

I haven't noticed a difference in where I put them. It is worth a shot I suppose. They may not be ready to breed. It is still early in the season. How old and how big are each of them? Have you done any temp drops? Have you had any weather come through recently, like a cold front or some rain? I've found that one of the biggest aphrodisiacs for our balls in a nice cold front with some rain. It really seems to put them in the mood.

Re: Pairing Question!
He weighs in at 950 grams and she weighs in at just over 1400 grams. I know 1400 is a little on the small size for the female but I just started the temp drops about 3 weeks ago. She has rapidly been putting on weight in the past month and a half so she'll be well over 1500 by the time they really start going at it. I'm not really expecting much at this point considering it is so early in the breeding season, I just figured they would at least show some interest in each other so that is why I was asking. I'm just going to keep pairing them 3 days on 3 days off but I have decided to try it in his tub rather than her terrarium just to see if there is any difference. And as far as rain/cold fronts go, I live in Texas so we are just now starting to get into the 80's during the day and 60's during the night but no drastic cold fronts have come through. We have had a couple of pretty serious t-storms in the past couple of weeks though. Thanks for all the advice

Just keep doing what you're doing and you should be all set. Only one of our males and two females have shown any interest so far this year. It takes time sometimes. Good luck and keep us updated!

Re: Pairing Question!
Has the female gone off feed? If not she may just not be accepting him at this point, it is early to be starting, give em some time... a little light mist will help... And if a storm blows in get em together, the change in weather will help the "mood"..... Dont stress it give em time....

No she is actually feeding pretty aggressively right now which leads me to think that maybe she is building up to start developing. I'll try the misting and see if that does anything. I'm really not stressing about it much right now seeing as it is so early in the season just trying to get as much advice as possible right now. I value all of you guys' tips and tricks that you know from your experiences with breeding.
