    First Refusal

So my normal female ball refused her first mouse today, bought her in June of this year, and have offered her a mouse every 5 to 6 days. I know her temps are right, and i know her humidity is correct. She is in deep shed, her eyes just cleared back up today, but that has never stopped her from eating before. So I guess my question is.... Is there a large percentage of balls that fast a couple months for fall/winter, or is it kinda hit and miss. The male I bought at the same time just finished shedding today and he didn't refuse the mouse, so I'm guessing it's hit or miss if they refuse due to season or not.

Are you feeding live, or F/T?

I always feed live with a hemostat, and he never refuses. It's always an instant attack(as soon as he's in position, of course).

Yea I feed live, she is usually the one of the two that just attacks the mouse, sometimes before I get her into the feeding tank shes already striking at the mouse, and she is the one of the two that will hunt the mouse once in the feeding tank, the male just sits back and waits for the mouse to cross his path, she will go get that little piece of meat...heh..anyways i figure it has to do with the cold front yesterday and her being in deep shed.

lol...yes...it's disappointing but it happens. They really don't need a reason to refuse, just try again in 5-6 days
