    Feeding Problems!

Hey guys, I picked up a normal female bp at a show a couple months back and I'm having problems with her eating. She is about 4 months old and weighs in right at about 175g. I recently switched her from adult mice to rat pups and ever since she has only eaten once. It's been almost 3 weeks since she last ate and I offer every 5-6 days. I have 3 other balls about the same size and in the same rack system that I'm having no problems at all with. She hasn't really lost any weight since she stopped eating (about 10g) and while I know that bp's can be very picky eaters and sometimes go a month without eating, I'm just a little worried because of her being so young. I feed f/t and I have tried everything from warming the pup up under a heat lamp to offering at different times of the day and night. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

I would just try to wait her out. If she's not losing a lot of weight then you have time. One of my 2010s did the same thing shortly after I got her. She took a while to get started then only ate for a few weeks before she was back to not eating. After 2.5 months she finally decided to start eating again. Her total weight loss the entire time was 10g and I tried every trick in the book to get her to eat (even live ASF >__<). Some times they just don't want to eat and then suddenly they will start eating again.

    Re: Feeding Problems!

Ya she's not really showing any signs of health issues such as emaciation I am just a little concerned because of her age. I guess I really won't start to worry unless she starts to lose considerable weight. I've thought about trying to offer a live rat pup or even going a little smaller to a live rat fuzzie but I really want that to be a last resort. Thanks for your advice Kinra
