New Setup!
I finally have my 30 gallon setup ready for my ball python. It's an old, modified aquarium from the early 90's, so I saved a LOT of money for a nice stand and stuff. I have a decent rheostat keeping the heating pad at 88-89 on the hot end, and the cool end is about 80. Ambient is around 85 - fluctuating slightly with the weather, the ac, heaters, etc. Humidity is analog, but it never goes below 50%. Right now it's at a steady 60%. I made a custom lid for it out of cheap wood from Home Depot, some 1/8 spaced chicken wire, angle brackets, and stainless steel handles. I stained the wood as best I could to match the lips on the tank, not the stand. I also have the back and sides blacked out with the recommended contact shelf liner. As you can see, Schemer, my Pastel BP of 4 months(about 24-26 inches) is already within these new-found confines. I'm quite pleased with the end result and hope it lasts for years to come.
Now, here are the long awaited pictures!
