Re: Female ball python color change after shed

This is an uncommon but not unheard of phenomenon. So far as I know, no one knows what causes it. The extremes of color change varies...yours seems to be somewhere in the middle of the extremes that I've seen pictures of. It may continue to change toward an axanthic look with the next few sheds...or it may start going back toward normal. Usually, but not always, they return to their normal coloration in time.

She's a beautiful snake...the color change makes her even more interesting. I'm very interested in this phenomenon and would be pleased if you kept us up to date as she continues to shed and grow.

never been bred, she been housed with Male black blood for experiment to see would happen, im not sure if she breed with him,

Im getting two answers, some people say she has already bred an ovaluting and i need to start getting the incubator ready,

and some say she is ready to breed, i have seen balls breed before and none have change color to when breeding

Re: Female ball python color change after shed

Here's a thread showing an extreme example of this kind of color change:

    http://ball-pythons.net/forums/showt...er-turn...gray

I've seen other examples closer in appearance to yours, but I can't find those threads right now. My googlefu seems to be impaired today.

I don't know if it's related to breeding cycles or not, but I don't think that looks like any typical "glow" I've seen.
