Butter... Fire... Butter Fire?

What are decent prices for a butter, fire, or butter fire? I think I really like the babies they can produce and was curious what pricing to look out for at the show.

Fires are the least expensive around $125 for males. Butters are the next most expensive, around $325 for males. Butter Fires are the most expensive, somewhere between $1500 and $2000.

Wowza! SO! A fire and a butter... so what should I pick up for the male and which would be better for the female?

You may want to go with a butter male and a fire female as prices on females tend to run a bit higher.

I don't think I could afford both females right now. As it is I might be tight in getting a male and a female at the same time. I am hoping I can maybe find both from one breeder and get some kind of a deal. I am also not sure I want to get two more females as then I would have 4 females and 1 male, which I think may just be too much since it will be my first attempt at breeding at all lol.

I would go with the Butter. I love them because because they can make BELs! But Pastel Butter and Butterbees are hot to. But Fires enhance EVERYTHING they are bred into. It is a tough choice to make.

The female will take at least one, likely two (in my experience) years longer than the male to reach breeding size. So if you're looking at hatchlings, you're better off buying a female this year and the male next year or the year after, given that the price of any given male tends to drop slightly every year.

Then again, if you find that perfect animal this year, it never hurts to snag him now since "perfect" can take awhile to come across.

Well I will keep an open mind. I am going to see how much I can get together before the show, however, I would like to not spend more than 500 right now. So we will see what might catch my eye, never know what you could find that just screams for attention.
