    Not bad for $50 lol

So emailed a guy on a local used site about a Dumeril for $100, after a couple back and forths he said he'd drop the price to $50 and deliver him for me, which is awesome cause I currently don't have a license or car LOL.

Met him this afternoon and got the Dum, then as I'm about to leave he said he's got a surprise for me. Turns out he was also the guy I was talking to about taking in a 4' ball and 4' red tail!! So i ended up walking home with about 20lbs of snake in the bottom of my sons stroller

I'm trading the ball for my friends female salmon possibly het sharp RTB tomorrow, so that's super exciting. Ball is supposed to be male but it's 4' and heavy...it might be female

Dumeril isn't a gorgeous example of the species, but I like him. And the other boa has some stuck shed on him but other than that seems really healthy and no one struck at me, despite the Dum apparently being aggresive

So here's some pics, I'll post the salmon boa tomorrow when i get her!!

Congrats! And that Dumeril's ain't bad looking at all - my girl has that coloring. I actually like the pink/purple ones like this better than the lighter ones. They are hands down one of my favorite snakes.

Ya they're all really healthy! Suspected when they were free that there may be RI's or something but I haven't seen symptoms of it in any of them so far. None of them are aggressive either. The guy took the Dumeril out of the bag with a welding glove cause he struck at him that morning!!, I've just been gently grabing his head before picking him up and he's been a sweetheart, guy was keeping them all in tanks so that may have been why he was aggressive.

The Dum weighed in at 12lbs 3oz, haven't weighed the BCI yet, Ball python was 3020 grams, that's gotta be female eh? It's too big for a male . It's got a couple scars on it, farily big one down it's back, maybe from a rat at some point? Was told it's 20 years old, which i don't know wether to believe He probed the Dum male but the other two he got in a trade and were told they were both boys. Just for curiosity sake I'll get them sexed so I can name them

These are my first two boas, so I'm really happy. Now I get to build some big enclosures to show them off

That's a pretty awesome deal for 50 dollars. It sounds like they were somewhat neglected, but they should be fine with some proper care. If you're trying to figure out whether they're male or female, I made a video showing How To Determine The Sex Of Snakes using the palpation method. It's easier to do on babies than adults, but it's pretty simple and doesn't require any tools. With Dumerils Boas, if they have spurs they're male. Female Dumerils Boas don't have spurs. Here is a Dumerils Boa Care Sheet, and I'd be happy to answer any questions you may have. Take it easy.
