    is Polypropylene plastic toxic for snakes?

    hi all is Polypropylene plastic toxic when heated up???ive seen a type of racking at ikea perfect for my ball pythons just wonderd if the plastics tubs will release toxins that could possible harm them

    are you talking about during the heating process, or after the fact of heating? how are you gonna heat it? i would say,, yes it gives off toxic fumes when heated. after it has been heated, and then washed,,, i would guess it would be safe. keep in mind that these are just guesses and speculations.. might wanna check out the MSDS sheets on the material.

    Are you referring to BPA content? There is some issues in developmental toxicity in humans but the avenue of entry is usually soluble in liquids and drunk. So no, that likely isn't too much of an issue.

    im gunna use a heatmat Polypropylene plastic are tubs just like the racking system just really cheap a 12 30ltr rack with tubs only costs 50 pounds just need to no if the plastic there made off will release toxins

    You are in europe? No the polypropelene is required under EU to be BPA free no debate it is fine. In the N. America there is still some questions but nothing very serious or likely.
