Just got my first Ball Python
So I just got my first Ball Python and she is beautiful. At first I was a little timid and scared that I might mess up but once I had it all set up and she ate I calmed down. My main question is when do I know that she needs to move up in size for the feeder mice. right now shes on fuzzies but i would say that they aren't any where near as thick as she is, they're probably 3/4 the size of her thickness. also I dont have a scale. I plan to by the digital temp/hydrometer soon alone with the temp regulator that I saw at the store, are those any good for the lazy guy who really doesnt want to constantly turn lights and heat pads on and off?

A thermostat is a must, as I've been told several times. I just bought a digital temp/hydrometer at Wal-Mart for about $7 and it works really well. The temp reads the same as my house thermostat and the hydrometer seems to work equally as well. You should post some pictures up!

pictures please! and congrats on your first BP, is it your first snake too?
and as for feeding, if its real young than smaller than it is probably a better choice, but generally you should feed them something the same width of the widest point of the snakes body

I have one pic thats on my phone atm I'll see what I can do. shes nothing fancy just a regular pattern but shes beautiful none the less, also shes getting ready to shed. and yes first snake. Ive had turtles and tortises(?) when I was a kid(5-10) and lizards but my parents never bothered to research how to care for them and they sadly died. I have been researching and have been setting up with analog, definatly going digital. I have a temp gun at work for automotive uses I know its accurate to about .02 degrees F and I now know that those analog gauges suck and those strips are even worse.

just wondering on most peoples signitures the 0.1 and such is the first number males and second females? also i have seen 0.0.1 what is the third?
2.3 Ball Python (Thanatos(lesser cinnamon vanilla), Prince(banana vanilla dinker). Lucifer(normal), Snailtail(lesser cinnamon vanilla pastel), Nagini(normal))
1.1 Red Tail Boa (Satin,Tiberius)
0.1* Rottwieler (Lola)

0.0.1 is an unsexed snake if I am not mistaken. And yes 1.0 is a male and 0.1 is a female.

first, welcome to the snake world lol.
second, your snake has nice coloring, and i actually somewhat prefer normals, theyre one of my all time favorite snakes
third, 1.2.5 (for example) means: 1 male, 2 females, and 5 unsexed
