    Anyone like me?

So I was wondering if anyone has the same issue as I do. You get really hyped for something, whether its a new snake or car or what have you. You focus entirely on it for a week to a month, then get bored with it and move on to something else? But you know that it will pay of in the end if you stick with it?

My issue right now is with my bps, I love them to death don't get me wrong, but seeings how I have no more money to buy more I am getting kinda bored with them. However I do know I need to stick with this as it could open many doors for me, and if I sold them I would just want more.

Just wondering if anyone is as crazy as I am and a little ADHD and jump from thing to thing?

I'm the same way with most things.

Except BPs, because the possibilities are endless here. And I think I finally found a hobby I truly love. Low maintenance, genetics (LOVE genetics, always have), knowledge, new things all the time, hatching babies, etc.

And World of Warcraft. It was the only thing that I actually was able to get addicted to, video game wise, with the sims being an off on thing that always keeps my attention if I log in.

But I got bored of fish really fast, except for the catfish and stingrays.
I got bored of most video games really fast.
Kinda bored of my geckos already, but want to at least produce a few babies first.

Like I'm not so much bored with bps. Its just I have no money to get anymore at this moment and so it gets kinda boring seeing the same snakes everyday wishing you could get a new one. I got bored very easy with my car for the same reason. Money dampens all my dreams.

I don't really get board with my reptiles, but every now and again I will stop and realize how much I have spent on my reptiles and building my collection and then I start to doubt my sanity.

I tend to go through phases though, like with books. I will start reading a book, get board with it and then start reading another book. This process will repeat until I'm about half way through 5 or 6 books and then I will start to finish them.

Then on top of that my interest seem to change monthly. One month I'll want to read a lot, another month I'll want to do something creative and then another month I'll want to watch a lot of TV, ect... It's not exactly a monthly change, but sometimes I seems like it is.

    To use an MM0RPG analogy

It's like pushing raid content. Playing with the same people, in the same gear, killing/wiping on the same bosses over and over again. It gets boring but you know that eventually that boss dies and/or that shiny sword or helmet you wanted will finally drop for you!

Do some reading on the work of B. F. Skinner. Basically getting more snakes makes you happy but owning them doesn't. People are like this with most things. Let me make an example that occurred to me yesterday. Someone bought a lottery ticket, scratched it off and then pretended like they won as a joke. "OMG I just won $2500 dollars." I said "Wow, cool" in a very calm voice. How does this tie back you say. Well the point is that winning $2500 dollars would be awesome and make most people really happy but its the winning part that makes them happy. Not the $2500 dollars. Most people if they are being responsible have more than $2500 dollars in debt and really should just pay down their debt. NOT FUN. My initial thought is that $2500 dollars won't buy much. Your best bet is to slow down the collecting. If you can slow down and find ways of getting joy from having the snakes then getting new snakes will be far more meaningful in the future.

I sort of am like that, only I don't tend to get bored and switch, I just keep adding on until my life is completely stuffed.

When I am starting into something new though, I am freaking obsessive and can't sleep and everything because I am researching, planning, etc. That lasts a few months usually, and then I manage to calm down and maintain the interest at a more normal level. Then I pick up something new and it starts all over again!

Right now I still love my snakes, fish, jeep, tatoos, and orchids, but am now obsessing over ear stretching, jewelry (making and buying), and scarification!
