Started my breeding project yesterday normal female x spider male

So I noticed the same temperment change in my normal female as I did this time last year in my normal female. Finicky eater, hissing again when I open up her tub which is NOT her norm. So I'm like wth? Them I'm like Oooooh! ok! So I put the spider male in with her last night and this is what I got withing 15 min. Enjoy the picts.

Your observations on temperament change with the female rang a bell here with me. One of my pastel breeder girls started acting the same way a couple weeks ago and I didn't know why. I bet you're on to something so I'm going to pair her tonite and see what happens. Thanks!

Megarea is a very docile snake, never does she hiss, or thrash her body to one side like she did. She really does enjoy being taken out when I have to clean out her tub she's always wrapping herself around my arm and now I had to tap her with a hook then my hand? Oh hells nah!!! So in went the male, I figured she needed a lil sumth'n sumth'n!!!! As soon as I put him in there she started tapping her tail on the tub, I should have taken a video, just thought of it, grrrr. He coiled around her and was all over her and wam!!! Locked in 15 minutes!!!! I hope to see some pretties!!! So yeah definately, oh and one other thing she herself was keeping to the cooler side of the tub not wanting the warmer side

Good luck with your project, hope to see picts of your pairings

She's telling you it's breeding time and time to feed her more

Something that strikes me weird is when people thinking a female going off feed is a sign she's wanting to breed
My females want to take a bite out of me and are ravenous about this time of year, time to feed up so they throw good eggs!
I cringe when they go off feed or get picky at this time of the year

Good luck with your season, hope you get a bunch of webbed snakies
