    Thermostat and room Heating

The tempretures are droping quick, I recently built a small room with insulated floor and walls, to keep my BP rack In.

Now I need to figure out a way to keep a consistant air tempreture in the room, Of 80F if I remember correctly?

I placed a small electrical oil heater in the room, but am having difficulty finding the proper range.

Is there any thermostats that can be boughten at hardware store for what I need? any recomendations on what to do?

I would also like to get a humidity controler hooked up to a humidifer after I get the temps right, but thats a diffrent post.

I found a johnson controls one for heating pole barns at tsc

It works well has about 2 degree variance. I had to wire it directly.
I have seen this model available on amazon for about 30

Humidity on the other hand if you want to throw a like more money in the mix the herpstat 4 has that ability I don't know what the watt per plug is for the heat though

I like the johnson controls for room heaters. They work great on oil heaters. You can get em at reptile basics. Just make sure you select the option for room heater instead of power strip

Most household thermostats cannot EASILY be made to work. (they can but at great effort and cost it simply is not worth doing)

You may find a johnson or ranco at an appliance repair place but on line a good option there.

A note on the humidifier it isn't very difficult to get one with an adjustable out put and set it every few days the controllers are expensive. I use this myself and change it twice a week when I add water to it.

    Re: Thermostat and room Heating

I use a 35 dollar little heater for my 6'x6' snake room and it has a built in digital thermostat. It works perfect even though setting it at 76 actually means 80 and i have my air conditioner in there for when it goes over like 83.
