I got one :) pic heavy

Well after bugging you all I finally got my little baby
I think s/he is around 20 weeks old and very cute. I got the littlen on Sunday from a local shop that is pretty good with the reptiles and the shop owner is a really nice fella (known him for a while) so if I need any help he will be just a phone call away.

I held this little one with my daughter about a week ago and is very nosey bit as i expected since i put him in his new home Sunday s/he has had a quick nose round then into warm hide and been there since.
Monday morning he pooped his head out and quite a bit of his neck then straight back in then this morning just a little face pop up on his body peeking out lol

I have left well alone to settle just changed his water.

S/he has had 8 feeds in the shop and has been on mouse fuzzies and was due a feed last night but i never tried as im not sure when to try.

Any way these first 4 pics was us having a hold last week.

These next pics are s/he home with me...not very good as wanted to get him in his new home to settle in

Sorry for the long post but just a little bit of an exited new mummy here lol hope you enjoyed the pictures.

    Thanks for looking

What a cute little snake - and kid!

As for the feeding, I'd wait a week (from the time he came home) and then try a hopper mouse... fuzzies are a bit small for BPs, and the week is usually recommended for them to get settled. He doesn't look thin or anything, so those 7 days won't hurt him. Good luck!

Re: I got one :) pic heavy

Thank you for replies im sooooo happy
I was thinking the food size looked a little small but first bp for me so still lots to learn even though i get so many headaches reading lol
I will use the 2 fuzzys i have then get some hoppers
How long should i expect him to stay in his hide for as he has been there for 2 days now with just the little head pop out for a second. I know it will be because its all new to him and normal but can't help being a new mum and being a little worried ....well not worried just curious about how long this might last for so i don't worry.

Also his hot end is reading around 86f to 88f i (have the probe in his hot cave) is this ok? any advise greatly appreciated

    congrats on the pickup

S/he will probably stay in that hide 85% of the time and except for a little at night you probably wont see it out much as they're nocturnal so dont worry if you dont see it out often. of course thats not saying yours might not be an explorer later but generally they are very shy and hide all day.

What an adorable baby! I love baby ball pythons. They are so curious yet hesitant, it's just charming. People laugh at me, but I think they're just as cute as puppies or kittens.

I agree they are so cute
I imagined it would be in the hide most of the time just can't wait for it to just swap sides or something lol
