    The Puzzle... SOLVED!!

    Hello everyone,

We are all very happy over here...

Here he is.... the very first ever NORMAL PUZZLE!!!!! I've been telling everyone for years that it was just TOO SOON to assume that this gene was linked directly to Pastel. So now we have done it... this project is now ready to be mixed with EVERYTHING!!!

The Puzzle Ball is SIMPLE RECESSIVE, based on our observation there are no accurate markers for the normal heterozygous animals as hatchlings. As they age, the older hets seem very light and somewhat orange in color. All of the Pastel homozygous and het versions seem to be incredibly clean and bright yellow.

Here are a few more pics...

    100% Het Puzzle & Puzzle

100% Het Puzzle & Puzzle - Note the eye stripe break

    Puzzle & Pastel Puzzle

Here is an interesting one... Pastel Desert 100% Het Puzzle! These seem to have displayed a tiny bit of Puzzle? I have been told by many people that their Pastel Deserts look a LOT like Pastel Puzzles but please notice the eye and head pattern, they are very different! I can't wait to see the Pastel Desert Puzzle!!

I know this was posted recently but I wanted to get this all in one post for everyone to view more easily... The Buzz (Bumblebee Puzzle)

Here is an old pic from 2009 of the very first Pastel Puzzle and Super Pastel Puzzle...

And one more Super Pastel Puzzle for good measure

Thanks for reading all of this! It is a great feeling to have gone through this project this long. This project has come full circle for us now and as I said above... it really NEEDS to be mixed with everything!

Cool - I really like the color modifications to the pastels more than the pattern aspect of it. I'd can't wait to see it crossed into some of the BEL complex - mojos, lessers, etc. I bet a pastel butter puzzle is going to be a sick animal!

This will be a very exciting gene to work with. Congrats! Great shots by the way, I love the 100% het and the puzzle starring at each other.
