    Quarantine question

I have a relatively small house. I currently have my snake rack in my master bedroom. I am wanting to set up a quarantine area because I am going to be looking for a few breeder sized normal females & want to keep them away from my more expensive morphs till I see they are safe.

Ok so my wife says not in the kids rooms. I cannot put it in the living room due to people coming over being deathly afraid of snakes. Only other place I could put them is in my laundry room. It is inside, holds my washer/dryer & my furnance. Question is will they be stressed by the vibrations from those appliances?

Thanks as always for the replies!

It's possible, they are quite sensitive to vibrations. Whether or not it will bother them I'm unsure. I just know if you play loud music in the same room as your snakes during the day, they'll all poke their heads out of their hides to find out what's going on, so I'd assume it'd be the same reaction with laundry appliances.

What are the temps like in your laundry room? I know mine gets pretty warm when I run the dryer which is why I don't use it as a quarantine room.

    Re: Quarantine question

Thanks for the replies. I didn't even think about it getting warm in there due to the dryer.. It does get warmer while the dryer is on.. grr! Only place I can put them is in my bedroom as far away from the others as possible but, it will maybe be 14ft away & that isn't much of a quarantine area.

I believe there are a few people on here who quarantine in the same room due to space so maybe they can chime in. I think if you take precautions like spraying the carpet in between the areas with Prevent-a-mite your collection should be safe from most things, except for any airborne illnesses.

It's not the best solution, but it can be done. Good luck!

My snake/office room is right next to our bedroom.
I just make sure not to have both doors open at the same time AND wash really well between rooms
