a question about shipping / delays

So, Fed ex says "we do not ship live animals" - and we all know they do - my question is - Are these animals being shipped legally. What made me think about this was today when my shipment did not arrive I called Fed Ex and found out it was in a city 5 hours away - same state - that has a zip code one digit different than mine - obviously a mistake either made by the shipper or Fed Ex. So, what does anyone know about this general subject. Do they know what they are shipping or not and more importantly, what are the chances that an extra 24 hours in the box killed my animal - Thanks for any input

Fedex does ship live animals. But you have to be a verified shipper and jump through their ropes. Send them a test package so they can inspect it and so on. But its so much easier to ship through shipyourreptiles.com cause they are verified and you ship through them. Its super easy. As long as temps arent really low where your animal is sleepin tonight and the shipper should have put a heat pack in their you should be fine

They are told to say they dont ship animals so that every John Doe dont go out shipping animals.

If they want to ship them properly they will search and go through the proper steps in doing so.

With Temps in your area being held at the hub, the snake will be fine for another night. The shipper should of been on the phone INSTANTLY telling them what was in the box so they can put it in safe place for the night at room temp or have it delivered later in the day.

All My boxes are Labeled whats in them via a premade stamp. This allows them to know whats in it and where the package should go on planes and in hubs.

    thanks

my packages typically are stamped with live harmless reptile stickers - i did contact the shipper - i was thinking it was really his responsibility to handle the problem with fedex - i too think he will be ok - just wanted other's opinions and i was really curious if that was just what the lady was supposed to say or if they really did not know they were shipping reptiles

On the box i stamp in red Live harmless Reptile and in Blue on the Shipping Label or Next to it i stamp Python Regius Qty:.

This is required by law. And anyone that says otherwise i have papers from F&W about a box i didnt mark 100%. If someone ships you a snake and its NOT labeled your both at fault

Yes they do, in order to ship Reptiles with Fedex you have to be certified with them.

Should have more than just Live harmless reptile on it..

But yes the shipper should of at least checked tracking, and made a call to be sure box was being set aside.
