moving the male?

so I took out my male from the female today, He has been with her for about 3 weeks so im hoping they i get some babies. When should i remove the male?
I have two other females i got after my first two. would it be okay if I put him in with the girls or would he kill them?

i remove my male when i can visually see a pregnancy.

With mice, its best keep them in at all times. Mice are very finicky and could end up killing production.

Ive noticed when i was rotating male mice they were getting beat up by the females cause they didnt recognize their scent. Mice can handle back to back litters better than rats.

It's not the male you have to worry about.... It's the females that do all the killing...so long as there is only one male...

Get a good ratio of male to females, ie, 1.3 or 1.4, etc. After they stop killing everyone, never add or subtract any adult mice from the population... If you need a replacement, grow it out of a litter...

I move male all the time I rotate them so they spend two weeks at the time with each female.

What it boils down to is finding what work for your colony and yourself.

Some animals do well even when moved some not so much all you can do is try and see.
