Eating while in shed?

So I got my lesser female 8 days ago - and noticed she was super shy and spending most of her time balled up in her hide - though sometimes she would perch up on a tree if I turned her belly heat down...

Anyway, I decided to try to feed her yesterday after waiting the "suggested" one week... She seemed furiously hungry - not messing around at all before devouring the hopper.

So this morning, I go to check on her, and notice she is not in her hide, but under her tree, and not really coiled up... so I pick the tree up and whoa... she is in the middle of her shed... she has the shed off of her head, but hasn't worked it off of the rest of her body yet...

Crazy... I wouldn't have tried to feed her if I had known she was in shed. Being a new snake to me, I just thought she was super shy.

Anyway, any problems to be aware of in a snake that ate a big meal during shed? I'm actually surprised she ate for me...

I have fed my snakes in shed. My good eaters don't care as long as they get there food regardless if they are in shed or not. Most of mine don't want to have anything to do with food... really anything for that matter. It has never caused me any problems. If I noticed they are in deep shed, I won't even bother. Sometimes I just don't notice, especially on my lighter morphs. They seem to have no complications if they happen to eat during a shed. I know it's not recommended, so I'd say just try not to... haha

ok... well, she seems to have decided to take a nap before trying to get the rest off. lol... hopefully, she'll decide to wake up soon and get the rest off. maybe i'll try covering the cage with a towel to give her some privacy...

I've got a couple that will eat in shed. Most won't, but if they wanna eat in shed, I don't see any real harm in it.

Mine are split 50/50 some will some won't.

hmmm.... starting to get a little worried now. she hasn't tried to get the rest of the shed off of her. She is still just balled up in the back of her viv. Her head piece is completely off, but the rest is still on her.

Should I leave her alone and see if she works it off overnight? I can't believe she has just sat there all day with just her head piece off.

I would leave her alone to let her work it out. it should not hurt to have the shed on her for a night. I have heard you don't have to start worrying until they have multiple sheds stuck on them.
