    Weird Thing

i dont know if this is common or not but i was checking my friends BP and notice there was some skin or shed (idk how to say it), and it looks exactly the same as when i received it like 6 days ago no change in appearance at all, the day i got it the tank was full of skin so i removed all of that and just 5 min ago y found more skin again :S since idk much about the shedding idk if its normal or not but just wanted to make sure, even though its not mine i dont want anything bad to happen to her

    thnks in advance

It's humidity is prolly too low which caused a bad shed. Now its prolly just coming off in small pieces and its supposed to be one whole piece. A good soak in sEmi water will help. And have ur friend raise humidity during shedding.

I agree, it sounds like stuck shed. One thing you can do is raise the humidity until it comes off on it's own, or soak the snake for 15 minutes in ~85 degree water, then run a towel down the snake to help remove the skin.

    Re: Weird Thing

The humidity is on the low side. If the snake is in one of those mesh-topped tanks, put a warm damp tea towel on top until it's done shedding properly.

This usually only becomes problematic if stuck shed starts piling on after a number of months. Make sure the eye caps (the dome-shaped piece of skin covering the eyes) are coming off. If the eyes look gray, you have a problem. Otherwise it should be okay.

i think ill put a wet towel in top of the tank cus since i have only 1 week with her and she doesnt trust me at all, i dont want to stress her a lot more than she/he is right now, also what do u guys recommend(material, box, can or something) to build her a lil cave, cus she got nothing, just a little water tank and a hot stone

U need to make sure that hot rock is controlled by some kind of thermostat or else it will cook the snake. Ur friend needs to completely change his husbandry or that snake will die!!! You can make him a temporary hide out of a box or plastic for now until u can get to the store and buy one or order online. Just make sure its small enough for it to squeeze into and not too big

Also, can you post a couple pics? It will help correct this situation

yeah i read about those rocks already and im not using it cus of the damage that can cause to he/she, i dont have a camera right now, and i cant find my phone at the moment u.u, but its a 20gal tank i believe with just a lil water tank the stone and some red sand he bought in the pet store and thats it, and i try to get some cereal box to make her a lil house

edit: the water tank/dish its a corner bowl so its way to small for her i think

The sand is really bad for them and can cause a lot of problems. If u can, try to get it out and put paper towels or plain old newspaper down. If ur not using the rock then how r u providing heat?? I hope I don't sound like a :cens0r: I'm only trying to help
