    canada/US border for ball pythons

    I will be going to the US for several months this winter and do not have a snake sitter around so i would like to take my BP !

    Does anyone know what the current regulations are?

    Hi,

    You will need import and export licenses and probably some form of vet paperwork - they are CITES II listed.

    You will need the same on the way back too I suspect.

    I'd advise you to find a snake sitter.

    Agreed, and it's a federal offense if you try to cross the border without the proper paperwork. It's not cheap paperwork either.

    If they catch you, they'll confiscate your snake as well, and the likelihood of getting it back is next to zero.
