    getting/keeping normal females

Hey, I'm new to breeding snakes and I am debating on whether or not to pick up a normal female for this up coming season. I plan on breeding my het pieds together and I have a spider male that could breed this year. Should I breed him this year and get an adult female to breed with him or wait a year or two for my pin to get big enough. Is it a waste of time to and money to get a normal since i'd be producing half spiders and half normals? Also are people finding it easy to move there bp's what are alot of you smaller breeders (the people still on the hobby scale) do to get your snakes sold? Thanks in advance

I think you should get a normal female. She could always be used for something, even if for just a pet. I have about 10 normal females that I will use for breeding.

Most of my adult females are normals. It's certainly worth it.
Keep in mind that you would have to quarantine her.

I don't have any problems selling my hatchlings. I have sold out every year before the next season's first clutch arrives.

Kept away from your collection for a bare minimum of 60 days. I personally would do more like 3-4 months, just to make 100% sure everything seems right with your new bp.

I definitely would get a normal...This is going to be my first year of breeding but i already have about 5 normal females that are breeding size and I'm raising two... Check craigslist for great deals.. Whenever they say they do not know the sex and they are super cheap I run down there with my probing kit ready to go!!

Ya I check craigs list on an almost daily basis for snakes, thats where i got my het pieds. There is always someone selling adult females for under $100 thats why I ask. I'm really thinking about getting one when I get my next check it might be worth it to pop out two clutches this year in case I do something wrong with the het pied pair. Thanks guys

By away from collection do you mean definitly in another room (I'm sure it is, just makin sure) or could you get away with across the room in its own tub?

Definitely another room. I have a QT rack set up in a room on the other side of our house.
