    Im such a DUMBA**!!!!

Well i just came up with an idea to convert a 4 inch fexwatt to a 8 inch. Since i use my rack for hatchlings and adults i only wanted to go with 4 inch because the others would take up the whole tub for the hatclings. Well i folded the flexwatt at 2 90 degree angles to have one piece go side by side. (ill post some pics) well i wired it, attached it to the rack and plugged in. BOOM!!

I wired it to the same sides. Thinking one on left and one on right well the lines go (+--+) Not (+-+-). Well off to wally world to get some new fuses.

well its been a long day. Walmart didnt have the fuses i needed. But today i found a four pack at Radioshack. Last set the had too. haha. But then when i got home today i noticed that my Spiders tub was not in all the way. Well she wasnt in there. Just my luck. But it only took me 15 mins to find her. She was on the other side of the house in my pantry. Hahaha

Wow i couldnt believe all this happened in a 12 hour period. But all is well now.

Damn..I would of ran off screamin...LOL! But I do have a question: Is it a good idea to connect fuses to the wiring of flex watt? If so: How do you wire it?

    Thanks!

    Now for the bad news.

That is a really bad idea to have the flexwatt bent like that.

Why didn't you just cut it and then connect it in either series or parallel?

You also need to make sure all the shelves (or more specifically pieces of flexwatt ) have the same wattage.

So if your normal shelves are using say 20 watts you need to make sure that shelf is either also 20 wats or is connected in parallel so tht it contains 2 strips at 20 watts each.

Otherwise you might find your temps will be off in that shelf.
