    Show prices....on normals.

I have always been tempted to ask this, but was always afraid of answers along the lines of, "I didn't really pay that close attention..." And I don't want to hijack threads of individuals who take the time to post pictures from reptile shows they attend.

    So....

As I view[enjoy] all the threads titled "Pics from _____ show, DUW," I find myself not only interested in the various BP morphs at the show....but the prices they are going for.

    But...

Understandably so....normals are never...eh...hardly ever shown in these threads. So season after season, I see these threads surface on the front page...and season after season you can gauge how the market price on morphs drop. But you never see the price on normals...

I remember years ago going to a medium sized show, there was a breeder who had a 5 gallon bucket, no lid, sitting on his table. In the bottom of this bucket were probably 15-20 hatchling corns...normals, albinos, anerys.... In a black sharpie, the outside of the bucket read..."$15 Each." I have always remembered this for some odd reason... These were nice looking animals, not just normals, unsexed...but an excess to the breeder.

It has been a while since I have been to a decent size show....so I ask all of you who post these pics...or maybe you have just been to shows recently; with all of these animals being produced and with the market on basic morphs crashing...what are you seeing breeders sell normals for? Maybe you don't see many as they are wholesaled to pet stores. Maybe you don't pay attention...I never really did. But it wouldn't shock me to see a dozen 'normals' in a 10 gal. aquarium...unsexed, listed at "$10 each."

That is all. And I am not going to proof-read this...I am tired.

    Converse.

At daytona i saw hatchlings go from 10 to 25 bucks Females 10 to 20 males. Then i saw a booth with 1000-2500 gram females proven an non proven being sold at 7 cents a gram. So 70 for a 1000 gram snake.

And there was at least dozen if not 2 dozen in a 55 gallon

I usually see 10-15 dollars, but have seen nice quality hatchlings(banded, bright orange, super contrasted, whatever) for around 20-30 each. Big normal gals for 50-70 dollars

I got a nice coloured normal female from an expo for $20.
Others I saw were either $35 or $40.
Males were normally $25, $30, or $40, it depended on the breeder.

normals that are nothing special i usually see at 10-25 but most of those u have about a 1 in 3 chance of surviving out of "the bucket" now the "special pattern" ones they pick out can go from 20-50 depending on how unique. and as for bigger ones.. adult males 30-50 and adult females 60-250 depending on size

Where I am the normals are often 40$ but I am in a smaller city. I do know the big box pet stores wholesale price is 6$. I really wish it was higher then perhaps there would not be so many impulse buys, that end up being rescued.

I have sold four normals for $20. Bucks each. I had put 20 dollars worth of food in them if not more. But it wasn't about money for me. Just seeing my snakes find homes of owners who are going to properly take care of them.
    A bunch of carpet pythons!
I guess fake is the new real ?

We went to a show last Saturday that I would probably classify as a medium sized show. I saw normals in the range of 15-25 for males, and 20-30 for females. Someone was selling a proven breeder '08 (I think, possibly '09) 1.0 100% Het Albino for $25 . I almost picked him up but I just didn't have the room (I had already purchased my 2 hatchlings). For that price, even if he wasn't Het Albino, he was still amazing.
0.1 Dinker (Goliath), 1.1 Het Ghost (Hercules & Athena), 1.0 Lesser (Titan), 0.1 Het Albino (Arya), 0.1 Wild Caught (Cleopatra), 1.1 Het VPI Axanthic (Perseus & Aphrodite), 1.0 Albino (Midas), 1.0 Butter (Samson), 0.1 Spider (Delilah), 1.1 Mojave (Apollo & Pandora), 0.1 Yellowbelly (Venus), 1.1 Het Pied (Isis & Osiris), 1.0 Bumblebee (Orion), 1.0 (Poss G Stripe) Pied (Spartacus), 0.1 Normal (Bandit), 1.0 Albino Burm (Caesar),2.1 Dogs, 0.2 Cats, 0.0.1 African Dwarf Frog, 0.0.2 Vicious Fishes, 1.0 child, 1.0 husband

In Loving Memory: 1.0 Pastel Zeus, 0.1 het Albino Anya

I'm a girl, I have snakes, I have tattoos, and I have piercings.

The more I talk to humans, the more I prefer my snakes.
