about the feeding issue
So I've had my snake for a little over a year now and she's NEVER had a problem feeding, she's always hungry and she always eats. I went away on vacation with family for about 4 weeks and upon coming home, my boyfriend informs me that he had forgotten to feed her and put water in her bowl. I filled up her bowl asap and attempted to feed her, but she refuses to eat! She acted like she was scared of the f/t rat. The rat though on the other hand had blood coming out of its nose for some reason and I don't know if that could be the issue? I left the rat in there and I'll check on her tomorrow to see if she's eaten it overnight or something. But is there a reason why she's acting like that? Could she have been so overly hungry that she's not hungry anymore? Thanks!

Ball pythons are known for refusing meals, and the fact that she has never refused before now is surprising. The blood coming out of the nose of the f/t rat is from the freezing process. It's blood coming out of the nose from the lungs, and I doubt it has anything to do with her not eating. Just leave it in overnight, and if she doesn't eat it then try again next time. Good luck

A month without eating is not a bad thing.
Most pet owners only feed their BPs once a month.
Make sure her temps are right. Her not having water was probably the worst thing. Just give her a couple days and try another f/t. And no, blood coming out of the nose shouldnt be a problem. My f/t secrete blood through the nose all the time. its just part of the thawing process.

What an irresponsible boyfriend!
Offer a smaller than normal sized prey, if f/t heat it really well after thawing.
As Leah suggested, leave in overnight.

(I'm still going to feed mine 1X a week, though)
