    Rack and felxweatt problem

I am about to build a rack with 6 shelves and flexwatt. Right now I will only be using two of them. Can I use one thermostat to control both shelves? Or do I need two thermostats.

you can connect both flexwatts together so you can have only one plug which would then only need one thermostat

If the flexx watts are the exact same dimensions then you can use one thermostat as they will be both heating up the same. If one was cut longer or shorter then the wattage would be altered and it wouldn't heat the same.

I would still test them both with the same thermometer to insure everything is working as planned,

there are a couple different ways to do this. if you have a look at some of the premade racks the can be purchased, you'll see that many of them use 1 long piece of flexwatt and weave it from shelf to shelf. you could also have a single strip for each shelf, then the option would be to daisy chain them to have 1 single cord, or wire each 1 with its own cord. Either way, depending on the wattage handling capability of your thermostat (most of them can easily handle a rack or two you have to add up the length of flexwatt to know the total wattage) you will place the thermostat probe directly on the flexwatt on 1 of the upper shelves (because they tend to get hotter) and you can control the entire rack with one thermostat.
