Should I give Snickers back her humidity hide?

We have has Snickers roughly 13 months now and she was a baby when we got her.

Just to give a quick timeline of her sheds:

    1. She was already in a shed when we got her and it all came off in bits and pieces.

    2. She became dehydrated due to our bad novice husbandry. We soaked her in a container and the next night she was completely shed from the neck down but the skin on her head remained. This turned into a nightmare but my boyfriend ended up getting the skin off due to a thread I started here. Then we quickly corrected husbandry issues before her next shed:

    3. Perfect one piece shed.

    4. Perfect one piece shed.

    5. Perfect one piece shed.

    6. This is the shed Snickers just completed tonight after some frustration.

During sheds 1-2 we were heating her tank with heat lamps and well obviously I know NOW that is a bad idea. Snickers now has 2 UTT heat mats(not the "sticky" kind though) both connected to thermostats and the top of her tank(a custom hinged lid we purchased) is covered in tinfoil on the outside with few holes for air circulation. This worked PERFECT for sheds 3-5!

With shed #6 I don't even know why a bad shed happened in the first place???

Her conditions have remained the same since sheds 3-5 and when her eyes clowded over I upped her humidity by spritzing her tank twice a day to keep it between 60-70 on the hygrometer. She then shed her head skin and the rest remained for 2 days. Tonight we put her in the bathtub for 20 minutes in shallow water due to these youtube videos:

Snickers was calm as could be in the water for 20 minutes but then my boyfreind tried to help her shed and she wasn't having it at all and he let her go and then she was acting like we tried to rape her and swam all over the place and wanted out of the bathtub...we obliged and put her back in her tank and 5 minutes later she was quickly shedding and 10 minutes later she was done.

Clearly Snickers does not like to be handled like the snake in the videos!
    --------------

Anyway we gave Snickers a home made "humidity hide" during shed 3 and she didn't use it but had a perfect shed anyway.

During shed 4 we still offered her the humidity hide but she spent 24 hours inside of it which scared me of respiratory problems and scale rot so I took it away from her fearing she would get sick. and I continued to spritz her tank and her shed was perfect.(same with shed 5)

I really have no idea what "changed" from sheds 3-5 to shed 6???

Should I give her back her humidity hide and if I do should I keep it on the warm or cool side of her tank?

Snickers goes on the warm side of her tank sometimes but never in the identical hide she has there.(I even keep her warm side at 88 rather than 90 but snickers still always uses her cool side)

You could just give her the humid hide when you see her going into shed. Then you don't have to worry about her spending too much time in it. I let the bedding in my humid hides dry out between shed cycles but leave them in with the snakes all the time. And also keep it on the warm side. It will help boost ambient humidity and you don't want the snake in a wet and cool hide.

Hope the next sheds are good. Sometimes they just have a stuck shed once in a while.
