For those concerned about power outage during hurricane..

I was a little worried about losing power and not being able to keep my reptile warm. My girlfriend suggested making a few rice socks (literally socks with rice in them) and keeping them warm in the microwave during the storm. If you do lose power at some point, you could put your reptile in a Tupperware container with the sock inside, perhaps covered with a rag. If one loses its heat, exchange it with another from those left in the microwave (I'd recommend also keeping them in a sealed container to preserve heat, and keeping them inside the microwave)

Thought it was an interesting idea for those who had do have a heat source but have no access to a generator.

    Good luck, East coast!

For a bout 80-100$ you can get Indoor Propane heaters that will keep the snakes nice and toasty.

I know where I'm headed after work
A room full of empty racks and thermostats that have been unplugged.
