HELP! baby crestie isnt using his front right leg
Two days ago I recieved 2 adult female cresties, 6 babies, & 9 eggs ( two of which have hatched already) from a guy who couldnt take them to college with him & right away i could tell he wasnt taking proper care of them. He was housing the six babies in 2 small KKs. The paper towels in them were nasty & they were so wet i could squeeze water out of them. But thats not the worst part. He gave me a baby that is tiny tiny, probably an inch & a half at most that has a few problems. He had shed stuck on him that was rock hard so i put him in water for a little to help soften it up hoping that would make it easier for him to get it off. It didnt work & i noticed he doesnt use his right front leg at all & because of that he falls alot when climbing. Its almost a grey color & is swollen a bit. I think it has something to do with the shed that is stuck on him. Ill post pictues in a couple minutes so you guys can see for yourself. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Yeah, it definitely sounds like he's in pain from constricted shed. Do you know what the guy was feeding them? It could also have to do with a calcium deficiency, whether of the baby or the mother when she laid. Good luck.

The guy didnt tell me anything. I tried to but as soon as he gave them to me i left. He wouldnt answer my calls or texts after that either which told me right away something was wrong.

Poor baby! Really try to gently massage at its elbow with a moist Q-tip to get that shed off..hopefully the swelling will go down, but it's really painful for them when the sensation comes back. Best of luck.

This works incredibly well if you have yet to remove the stuck shed. You need to remove that ASAP.

I did everything in the video & while I didn't get all the shed off I did get a good bit off. I was as gentle as I could be but I started to see blood & I was worried I was hurting him so I stopped. Hopefully I loosened the rest up enough so that he can get it off on his own.

I'm glad it helped. If it doesn't come off in a day or two I'd try it again.
