Hi Ya Guys,
Hope i've posted this in the right spot?
Total newbie here! Have a behaviour question for you all and hopefully will put my mind at rest. I have had my 5 month old Ball called Peanut for 4 weeks now, i have had no problems with feeding (1st strike) and she shed last week in 2 pieces over 3 days, i did have to wrap her in a warm damp towel to get the last tail bit off bit it was no bother to her. She has been camping out in her hides since i got her and for the 1st 3 weeks kept handling to a minimum as she seemed nervous. The tank (Glass) is a bit big for her but its packed out with loads of plants, logs, 3 hides so only the front side is clear glass.
Over the last couple of days she has taken to motoring round her tank day and night, climbing up the hanging plants and seems really keen to escape, even balancing on the log and trying to stretch up to reach the roof. Nothing has changed in the tank.. Temperatures are 80-81f cool side, ambient temp 83/84f and basking spot 94f. Humidity varies as i have a Exo Terra and i need to mist but i always keep it within 50% - 65% (higher for shedding)
Is her behaviour normal, is she just gaining confidence and testing out her space or should i be worried? It really is a total turnaround of character.. i am pleased that she’s being super ballsy (excuse the pun!) but im a bit nervous that its not for a good reason? When i take her out and handle her she is active and alert but again seem very keen to get away as well?
Also after 4 feeds of 1 rat pup each time she has not pooed yet, she was really thin and dehydrated when i got her (BAD BAD pet store) but she’s filled out since i’ve had her. I am getting a bit worried that she’s constipated as well?
Any advice gratefully received!
