I started this project in a previous post of mine but I figured since this is getting a little off topic of my original post I'd just start a new thread for it..

I've already cut and carved all my polystyrene pieces and have began to grout them. I started using a cheap paint brush, but when I noticed that the grout had a brushed on look to it (you could see indentations that the bristles made). Then I switched over to using a sponge brush, but it still has sort of a brushed on look.

Can the grout be sanded down after it's dry to get rid of the brushed look? Will this dull down the color too much?

Also, as suggested my a BP.net member, I plan on using Minwax sealant to seal everything when it's done. Would the sealant be okay under direct heat? (I'm also making a warm hide)

Link me some pictures to other hides and structures built using this method. I love seeing the images and how things turn out, plus it's useful when adding color.
