    Rescued sparrow! Help!

Hey bp.net! I was just riding my bike to the local lowes to build a treehouse with my sister and about half of the way there I saw this sparrow do the signature sparrow dive directly into the headlight of a car so being the guy that I am I just had to pick the little guy up ride home with him. I kinda hid him from my mom just so she wouldn't wig out, then I put in in an extra tub I had laying around and put some paper towels with bird seed in a bowl and water in a bowl. What should I do? I named him jack lol. But he seems ok just a little dazed and confused haha am I doing anything wrong?

He'll almost certainly die of shock, they're very delicate. You need to get a hot water bottle from the drug store or from your mom, and fill it with warm (~100F) water. Or get a heat pad in there. Warm air isn't enough--you have to have a solid heat source in there.

If you can get him past the first couple hours with the heat source, you can get a (clean!) paintbrush or an eyedropper and start putting drops of water around his beak. But he has to not die of shock, first.

(I have bird dogs. I've taken a LOT of fledglings down to the wildlife rescue in Chandler.)

I have a large 8ft picture window in my living room and birds are ALWAYS flying into it. Making a horrible sound then when you look outside theres a poor bird laying on the ground. Rarely do they actually die but it has happened. It usually takes them about 30 mins to an hour to fully recover from the ordeal and fly away.
x2 on getting him on a heat source then feeding him water, those are most important.
You can just use a critter keeper if you have a spare lying around, make sure to cover his cage with a towel, darkness soothes birds and he will feel less stressed seeing you and the new surroundings.
If he hasnt died already from your ride home and youve had enough time to post this thread then he will probably be ok.
Just keep him warm and hydrated, you can use a feeding syringe if you have one or and eye dropper for offering him water. As loonunit said you can just dab some water in the corner of the beak and he should take some.
    Hope this helps! Good luck!
